JobKatif is an organization dedicated to rebuilding lives and restoring the dignity of the former residents of Gush Katif by helping them secure employment and develop new businesses.

Our goal is to help the people of Gush Katif become financially independent not to dispense charity.

JobKatif has the backing of the State of Israel, and has already put more than 750 people back into the workforce, aided over100 small businesses to open and sent dozens of people to job-retraining courses.

As of today, approximately 800 former residents of Gush Katif are still unemployed. This number includes those individuals who were in full cooperation with the government before the disengagement.

The Gush Katif population has always been a hardworking, self-sufficient group of people, independent of governmental assistance. They now find themselves without any work, and many are without viable prospects. The state of unemployment inevitably lowers a person's self confidence and self esteem which, besides causing emotional and spiritual damage to the person, further weakens his ability to start over in a new career.

As each day passes, more and more families from Gush Katif are disintegrating and collapsing under the financial and emotional stress of being jobless, on top of all the other complex issues of their tragic circumstances. Divorce, substance abuse and other disturbing behavior have become more prevalent. This tide can be stemmed!

JobKatif is working to save these families, to restore their dignity and financial independence, before it is too late, and to solve this issue once and for all. This is where JobKatif stands out - we are actively tackling the problems and the issues, immediately and effectively, unencumbered by bureaucracy that limits most organizations.
